Since posting that we are off on our travels once more, I have been asked on numerous occasions, (twice), if I can give details of our intended route. (root or rout?)
At the 2019 Destinations Show at Excel, Manchester, whilst looking for someone to help us plan a visit to the West Coast, we happened upon a very enthusiastic lady who was hawking the American West. She described it as that bit of America between the West Coast and the Plains. She extolled the attractions of the National parks and the Forests and Rivers of Idaho and Montana.
Armed with, well, an armful of, brochures and maps, we headed home and began to put together an itinerary for a three month visit. Regular readers will know that this trip was aborted due to Covid but can now be undertaken.

We fly on 2nd May 2022 from Heathrow to San Francisco and make the return journey on 28th/29th July. In between we will drive around 5,000-5,500 miles visiting California, Nevada, Utah, Wyoming, South Dakota, Montana, Washington and Oregon, finally returning to California.
There will be an eclectic mix of Hotels, Log Cabins and Airbnb accommodation and we will be visiting towns with evocative names (Deadwood, Custer, Little Big Horn, Jackson Hole, Salt Lake and of course, San Francisco and Las Vegas. Numerous National Parks, and iconic sites, rodeos and festivals.
Yee Ha! Bring it on.
